It allows you to keep a camera\u2019s position while shifting the viewing plane to eliminate vertical distortion. Most commonly seen in architectural photography, a Shift lens can be used to remove the third (vertical) vanishing point in product photography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Shift-EstimateVerticalShift\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Estimate_Vertical_Shift\"><\/span>Estimate Vertical Shift&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To use the Shift lens, press the&nbsp;<em>Estimate Vertical shift<\/em>&nbsp;button.&nbsp;This will set your camera facing forward and calculate the&nbsp;<em>Vertical Shift<\/em>&nbsp;value,&nbsp;needed to achieve a 2 point perspective lens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Shift-Perspective\/FocalLengthandFieldofView\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"PerspectiveFocal_Length_and_Field_of_View\"><\/span>Perspective\/Focal Length and Field of View<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>Perspective\/Focal Length<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Field of View<\/em>&nbsp;controls the amount of distortion (convergence) seen in the Real-time View, real world values can be used here to replicate camera lens focal lengths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Shift-VerticalShiftandHorizontalShift\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Vertical_Shift_and_Horizontal_Shift\"><\/span>Vertical Shift and Horizontal Shift<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>These control the vertical and horizontal movement of the camera\u2019s viewing plane; these values can be adjusted beyond the slider extents (including negative values!) to control what\u2019s visible in the&nbsp;<em>Real-Time View<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any time the camera position is changed, it is necessary to re-calculate the shift values by pressing the&nbsp;<em>Estimate Vertical Shift<\/em>&nbsp;button. This ensures that the values are correct for the current camera position and orientation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Shift-Groundgrid\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ground_grid\"><\/span>Ground grid<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Ground Grid<\/em>&nbsp;will overlay a 1:1 grid on the KeyShot ground plane; the density of the grid is controlled by the Environment size.
