AxF materials are created from physical material samples scanned using an X-Rite TAC7 Scanner which captures and creates the accurate digital material specifications in the AxF file. Developed for the Radiance Renderer, the BSDF&nbsp;file format supported in KeyShot is an XML format containing measured BSDFs&nbsp;defining the distribution function that dictates how the light is scattered and how the material appears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Measured-ImportingMeasuredMaterials\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Importing_Measured_Materials\"><\/span>Importing Measured Materials<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can import .Axf materials directly into the material panel or to the <a href=\"https:\/\/manual.keyshot.com\/keyshot11\/manual\/materials\/material-library\/\" data-type=\"manual_documentation\" data-id=\"3421\">Library<\/a>, either directly or using the <a href=\"https:\/\/manual.keyshot.com\/keyshot11\/manual\/tools-3\/material-importer\/\" data-type=\"manual_documentation\" data-id=\"5774\">Material Importer<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While editing a material in the <em>Projects<\/em> &gt; <em>Material<\/em> <em>tab<\/em>, select <em>Measured<\/em> from the <em>Material Type<\/em> drop-down, the part will appear black and a <em>File<\/em> location field will appear in the <em>Properties<\/em> tab. Select the folder icon <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"32\" height=\"32\" class=\"wp-image-3841\" style=\"width: 16px\" src=\"https:\/\/manual.keyshot.com\/keyshot11\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2020\/07\/open_icon.png\" alt=\"\"> to select a measured file format.
