With this, additional export options are provided and the export includes a single texture file (png) that combines the following material properties: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Color\/diffuse<\/li><li>Roughness<\/li><li>Normal map<\/li><li>Metalness<\/li><li>Ambient occlusion<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-column warning-box gb-block-layout-column\"><div class=\"gb-block-layout-column-inner\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"limitations\">Limitations<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Smart Export does not include support for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Fuzz <\/li><li>Curve geometry<\/li><li>Volumetrics (scattering medium, cloudiness, translucency)<\/li><li>Thin film Material <\/li><li>Multi Layer Optics Material<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"obj\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"OBJ\"><\/span>OBJ<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Object files<\/em>. A simple data-format that represents 3D geometry alone. Widely supported in 3D graphics applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The OBJ format stores information about the scene&#8217;s geometry and colors, but not about the textures, environment etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"export-to-obj\">Export to OBJ<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Simply select <em>File &gt; Export &gt; OBJ<\/em>, select a location and give the file a name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KeyShot will output 2 files: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>An OBJ containing all the geometry data<\/li><li>A MTL file containing information about the diffuse color of the objects. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"glb-gltf\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"GLBglTF\"><\/span>GLB\/glTF<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>GL transmission format<\/em>. &#8220;The jpeg of 3D&#8221;. Designed to bridge the gab between 3D content creation tools and modern 3D applications. It can also be used with AR viewers mainly on Windows and Android.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The glTF format will bake materials and textures in a single texture file. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-columns gb-layout-columns-1 one-column\"><div class=\"gb-layout-column-wrap gb-block-layout-column-gap-2 gb-is-responsive-column\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-column warning-box gb-block-layout-column\"><div class=\"gb-block-layout-column-inner\">\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"limitations\">Limitations<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the limitations mentioned in the Baking section above, export of the glTF format has following limitations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Plastic (Transparent) material will be exported using the diffuse color only<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"export-to-gltf\">Export to glTF<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Select <em>File &gt; Export &gt; GLB\/glTF<\/em>, select the specific format, a location and give the file a name<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Size: <\/strong>If your scene does not have scene units defined, you will need to select the scale of your geometry<\/li><li><strong>Texture resolution in dpi:<\/strong> The texture resolution in dpi for each part. The dialog will start with a suggested value that is based on the scale of your model. A higher dpi will yield a sharper\/more precise texture but also impacts the file size. <\/li><li><strong>Include ambient occlusion:<\/strong> When enabled the ambient occlusion will be included in the baked texture.<\/li><li><strong>Compress using Draco: <\/strong>This reduces the file size by compressing the geometry. Draco does not compress textures and therefore does not affect texture quality.<\/li><li><strong>Number of samples:<\/strong> This controls how many times each pixel in baked texture is calculated for increased accuracy. Too low of a value will result in an image that has excessive noise. Increasing the value will increase the export process time.<\/li><li><strong>Prefer Geometry Nodes or Textures<\/strong>: the format cannot handle both  Geometry nodes (bubbles, flakes, displacement) and textures on a single part. Try using a different viewer if you are experiencing this problem.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"stl\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"STL\"><\/span>STL<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em><em>STereoLithography files.<\/em> <\/em>A common 3D format mostly used for 3D printing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The STL format is primarily for exporting the geometry, but you can also select to translate materials and textures (only color) to vertex colors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"export-to-stl\">Export to STL<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Select <em>File &gt; Export &gt; STL<\/em> select a location and give the exported file a name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-columns gb-layout-columns-2 gb-2-col-equal\"><div class=\"gb-layout-column-wrap gb-block-layout-column-gap-2 gb-is-responsive-column\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-column gb-block-layout-column\"><div class=\"gb-block-layout-column-inner\">\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Information about the size of the exported geometry. This will be updated if you change the <em>Model Scale<\/em> or the <em>Export Units<\/em>.<\/li><li><strong>Save multiple .stl files<\/strong> Enable this if you want KeyShot to export each part to a separate STL file. A folder will be created for all the exported files.<\/li><li><strong>Texture Mode<\/strong> Select how to translate materials and textures. <ul><li><strong>Export as single color <\/strong>will give the same color to all parts in the scene.<\/li><li><strong>Export as vertex colors<\/strong> will determine the color of each face (triangle in the mesh). When this is selected you have to select the method and level of detail. <ul><li><strong>No subdivision<\/strong> will set the color for each existing face in your mesh.<\/li><li><strong>Normal Subdivision<\/strong> will subdivide the the surface in evenly distributed faces. You can select if you want to limit the number of faces based on <em>Edge length<\/em> or on <em>Polycount<\/em>.<\/li><li><strong>Adaptive Subdivision<\/strong> will subdivide the surface while taking the texture into account.
