This can be done via TLS, see how in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/manual.keyshot.com\/keyshot10\/manual\/getting-started\/setup\/manager-setup\/\">Manager Setup<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are three ways to get a TLS certificate: buy one via a certificate authority, get a free one via&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/letsencrypt.org\/getting-started\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Let&#8217;s Encrypt<\/a>, or create a self-signed certificate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"GetaTLScertificate-Buycertificate\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Buy_certificate\"><\/span>Buy certificate<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many places to buy. Here are a few:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/dk.godaddy.com\/offers\/ssl-certificate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GoDaddy<\/a><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.digicert.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">DigiCert<\/a><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rapidsslonline.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">RapidSSL<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"GetaTLScertificate-FreecertificateviaLet'sEncrypt\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Free_certificate_via_Lets_Encrypt\"><\/span>Free certificate via Let&#8217;s Encrypt<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/letsencrypt.org\/getting-started\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Let&#8217;s Encrypt<\/a>&nbsp;is a certificate authority that creates free certificates that a just as secure as the ones you can buy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The easiest way to get started is by following the instructions for their&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/certbot.eff.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Certbot<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"GetaTLScertificate-Createself-signedcertificate\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Create_self-signed_certificate\"><\/span>Create self-signed certificate<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It is required to have&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.openssl.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">OpenSSL<\/a>&nbsp;installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Open a terminal and write the following to create private key file &#8220;key.pem&#8221; and certificate file &#8220;cert.pem&#8221; (both in the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/X.509\" target=\"_blank\">X.509<\/a>&nbsp;format):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code lang=\"bash\" class=\"language-bash line-numbers\">% openssl req -newkey rsa:4096 -nodes -x509 -keyout key.pem -out cert.pem\nGenerating a 4096 bit RSA private key\n..............++\n...................................++\nwriting new private key to 'key.pem'\n-----\nYou are about to be asked to enter information that will be incorporated\ninto your certificate request.\nWhat you are about to enter is what is called a Distinguished Name or a DN.\nThere are quite a few fields but you can leave some blank\nFor some fields there will be a default value,\nIf you enter '.', the field will be left blank.\n-----\nCountry Name (2 letter code) []:.\nState or Province Name (full name) []:.\nLocality Name (eg, city) []:.\nOrganization Name (eg, company) []:.\nOrganizational Unit Name (eg, section) []:.\nCommon Name (eg, fully qualified host name) []:127.0.0.1\nEmail Address []:.<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that the value of the fields is not important except for the &#8220;Common Name&#8221;, which must be the IP or domain name used by the Monitors to connect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Put the real IP in place of &#8220;127.0.0.1&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"GetaTLScertificate-TrustCertificate\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Trust_Certificate\"><\/span>Trust Certificate<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>If you get the following error, or similar, when you try to connect to the Manager, you have to state that you trust the certificate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#eeeeee\"><em>Error: Connection error: The root CA certificate is not trusted for this purpose<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">macOS<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Double-click the certificate file and add it to the <em>Login<\/em> Keychain. <\/li><li>Click <em>My Certificates<\/em> in the left pane and find the item with the domain name or IP you input above. <\/li><li>Double-click that item and set it to <em>Always Trust<\/em> for <em>Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)<\/em>.<\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow Account<\/em>.<\/li><li>Move the new certificate from the <em>Certificates-Current User > Trusted Root Certification Authorities into Certificates (Local Computer) > Trusted Root Certification
