The fibers will be varied up to the selected length + length * variation value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Randomness:<\/strong>&nbsp;By default the fuzz fibers are straight. Increasing Randomness will add variation to the flow of each fiber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Radius:<\/strong>&nbsp;Set the width of each fuzz fiber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Density:<\/strong>&nbsp;Adjust how many fibers are added within 1 unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Segments:<\/strong>&nbsp;Determines the number of segments each fuzz fiber consists of. Increasing the number of segments will produce a smoother fiber. If you have added length variation to the fuzz, the varying fibers will have proportionally more\/less segments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Max Curves:&nbsp;<\/strong>This value limits the amount of curves the fuzz material can generate for each part. Adding large amounts of curves can make the scene very heavy. The amount of curves are impacted by both density, length variation and segment values. If the curve limit is reached, the density will be impacted. The Max curve value is measured in millions and is an approximation. If you don&#8217;t want to limit the amount of curves just leave the value at 0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Shape<\/strong>: Select if you want the fuzz fibers to have a&nbsp;<em>Ribbon<\/em>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<em>Cylinder<\/em>&nbsp;shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Flip Normals:<\/strong>&nbsp;The fuzz direction follows the normals.&nbsp;<em>Flip Normals<\/em>&nbsp;will make the Fuzz go in the opposite direction.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/manual.keyshot.com\/keyshot10\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/fuzz_panel-463x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4547\" width=\"347\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/manual.keyshot.com\/keyshot10\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/fuzz_panel-463x1024.png 463w, https:\/\/manual.keyshot.com\/keyshot10\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/fuzz_panel-136x300.png 136w, https:\/\/manual.keyshot.com\/keyshot10\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/fuzz_panel-694x1536.png 694w, https:\/\/manual.keyshot.com\/keyshot10\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/fuzz_panel.png 758w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 347px) 100vw, 347px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Fuzz-Appearance\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Appearance\"><\/span>Appearance<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The following parameters will only affect the fuzz fibers, not the base geometry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Color:<\/strong>&nbsp;Sets the base color of the Fuzz fibers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Specular:<\/strong>&nbsp;This is the color and intensity of the reflection of light sources within the scene. Black will completely turn off reflections, while white will provide a very shiny plastic look. To achieve the most realistic look, use some level of gray or white. Adding color can give the material a metallic effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Roughness:&nbsp;<\/strong>This will add microscopic levels of imperfections to the surface fibers when the values are increased. When set to 0, the material will appear perfectly smooth and polished. When the value is increased, it will appear more rough as light is diffused across the surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Transmission Roughness:<\/strong>&nbsp;Increasing this value will spread out highlights on the surface, similar to what you see on non-transparent materials. However, it also spreads out the light that is transmitted through the material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Transmission Spread:&nbsp;<\/strong>This controls the spreading of light as it passes through the fuzz fibers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Refractive Index:<\/strong>&nbsp;This controls how much light will bend or \u201crefract\u201d as it passes through the fuzz fibers.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Fuzz-Connectednodes\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Connected_nodes\"><\/span>Connected nodes<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Fuzz-Surface\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Surface\"><\/span>Surface<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Adding a material to the&nbsp;<em>Surface<\/em>&nbsp;socket of the&nbsp;<em>Fuzz<\/em>&nbsp;node will enable you to customize the material of the fuzz fibers. This means that when a&nbsp;<em>Surface<\/em>&nbsp;node is attached, the&nbsp;<em>Appearance<\/em>&nbsp;parameters in the&nbsp;<em>Fuzz<\/em>&nbsp;node will be disabled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Fuzz-DensityTexture\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Density_Texture\"><\/span>Density Texture<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Density Texture enables you to add variation to the density of the fuzz fibers. Adding a<em>&nbsp;Direction Texture<\/em>&nbsp;will enable you to manipulate the direction at which the fibers come out of the surface. You can use either a normal map (image texture) or a procedural texture (not color gradients). The&nbsp;<em>Bump Height<\/em>&nbsp;of the&nbsp;<em>Direction Texture&nbsp;<\/em>controls how much the direction is altered. At a bump height of 0, fibers will follow the normals. Increasing the value will increase the angle. Negative values will angle the fibers in the opposite direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this example, a normal map is used to manipulate the direction.
