The Floating License Configurator<\/em> application automatically creates a service in LMTools<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to create a custom license service, you will need to understand LMTools<\/em> in greater detail. The instructions below will walk you through creating your very own custom license service. Our licensing team will provide you with a license file and the appropriate software links. You may reach our licensing team at license@luxion.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you already have a license server set up you can proceed to the Changing Server Connection<\/a> page, to learn about setting up more than one KeyShot license server at the same or multiple locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Custom License Server Setup Instructions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1.<\/strong> Download and run the \u201cluxion_license_server_setup_x86_v1.8.exe\u201d installer.  Follow the prompts and make sure that “Run Luxion License Server” is disabled.  Click Finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.<\/strong> Launch the LMTools<\/em> application (found inside C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Luxion License Server<\/code>) and go to the Config Services tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.<\/strong> Write a new service name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.<\/strong> Browse to the lmgrd.exe<\/em>, license (.lic<\/em>), and debug.log<\/em> files. You should be able to find all of these files in your C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Luxion License Server<\/code> folder. Note that the debug log is created after you start the service. For now, you can simply specify the correct path: C:\\ProgramData\\Luxion\\License\\LUXION.log<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.<\/strong> Enable Start Server at Power Up<\/em> and Use Services<\/em>. Then click Save Service<\/em> and confirm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6.<\/strong>  Go to the Start\/Stop\/Reread<\/em> tab. Enable Force Server Shutdown<\/em> and click Stop Server<\/em>.  You may also stop the Luxion License Server<\/em><\/em> within the Windows Services<\/em> dialog (services.exe<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7.<\/strong> Click Start Server<\/em>.  You may also start the Luxion License Server<\/em><\/em> within the Windows Services<\/em> dialog (services.exe).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8.<\/strong> Open the LUXION.log<\/em> file inside your C:\\ProgramData\\Luxion\\Licens<\/code>e<\/em> folder (this folder contains the licensing software). The debug log will reference your license file and tell you that the server started on your computer system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Setting The License server up with a Firewall:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It is important to note that FlexLM uses 2 Ports for the license server the LMGRD port (27000 by default) and the LUXION Vendor Daemon Port (assigned randomly unless Fixed in the License file).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These ports can be set in the License File.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
